Import a calendar link (ICS)
Show a school, team or holiday calendar, or a calendar from another app, by pasting its subscription link.
Add a link
- Go to Settings › Calendars and choose Add calendar › Import a calendar link.
- Paste the link. It usually ends in
.icsor starts withwebcal://. Use the "subscribe" or "iCal" link, not the address of a web page. - Check the preview, then pick a name, a color and who should see the events.
Imported calendars are read-only subscriptions. You can't edit their events in Nestday; change them where they come from.
Secret links are like passwords
Some links, such as Google Calendar's "Secret address in iCal format", let anyone who has them read the whole calendar. Nestday keeps the link on its server and never shows it again after you save it. If you think a secret link leaked, reset it in the source app and add the new link here.
How often it updates
Nestday checks each link every few hours. Changes at the source can take that long to appear. Sync now in Settings asks for an earlier check.
Outlook and Apple iCloud
Direct Outlook and iCloud connections aren't available yet. You can still show them:
- Outlook.com / Microsoft 365: Settings › Calendar › Shared calendars › Publish a calendar, then copy the ICS link.
- iCloud: in the Calendar app, share the calendar as a Public Calendar and copy the link.
Paste that link into Import a calendar link.
When a link stops working
If the status says the link can't be reached or wasn't found, open the link in a browser. If the owner changed it, disconnect the calendar and add the new link. Events already imported stay until you disconnect.
