Privacy and your data
What Nestday keeps, who can see it, and how to take it with you or delete it.
What's stored
- Your Google name and email, to sign you in and match invitations.
- Everything your household adds: events, chores, stars, rewards, lists, meals, recipes, pantry, notes, photos and settings.
- For connected calendars: their events, plus the calendar link or sign-in token, kept only on the server.
- For displays: their name, settings and when they were last online.
Household data is never used for advertising. Only members of a household can read its data, and displays see only what's allowed on shared screens.
Export
Owners can download everything as one JSON file from Settings › Privacy & data. Calendar links and sign-in tokens aren't included.
Deleting things
- Deleted events, chores, lists, recipes and notes go to Recently deleted, where an adult can restore them or delete them permanently.
- Delete household (owner only) permanently removes all of the household's data for everyone. Connected calendars are disconnected; events in Google or other providers aren't changed.
- Delete my account removes you from your households and deletes your Nestday sign-in. Owners delete their household first.
Retention
A formal retention policy hasn't been confirmed yet. Until it is, Nestday doesn't purge anything automatically: deleted items stay recoverable until someone deletes them permanently. Backup retention depends on how this Nestday is hosted; ask whoever runs it.
